Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Fidamont Inc. collects through fidamont.com and our emails, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Fidamont Inc. ("Fidamont", "we", "us") is a regulatory and compliance advisory firm based in Austin, Texas. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
This policy covers this website, our contact form, and our newsletter. It does not cover information we handle while working for a client. That information is governed by the client's engagement agreement with us.
2. What we collect
Information you give us:
- Contact form: your name, work email, company, role, the kind of business you run, what you need help with, where you operate, your stage and timing, how you heard about us, and anything you write in the message box.
- Newsletter: your email address and a record that you ticked the consent box, with the date.
- Correspondence: the content of emails and calls you have with us.
Information collected automatically:
- Server logs: our hosting provider records your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time. We use this to run and secure the site.
- Traffic measurement: if we measure site traffic, we do it in aggregate, with tools that do not set cookies or build a profile of you.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through the contact form.
3. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and decide whether we can help, including checking for conflicts.
- To send you the Fidamont newsletter, if you subscribed.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We do not make decisions about you by automated means.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent (newsletter), our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running the site, steps taken at your request before an engagement, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Email and consent
We send the newsletter only to people who asked for it by ticking an unticked consent box. Every email names Fidamont Inc., gives our mailing address, and includes an unsubscribe link.
You can unsubscribe at any time. We act on unsubscribe requests promptly, and in any case within 10 business days.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers that run the site for us, such as website hosting, email delivery, and domain and email routing. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
- A successor, if Fidamont is merged, acquired, or reorganized. The successor remains bound by this policy for information collected under it.
6. Where it is processed
We and our service providers process personal information in the United States. If you are in Canada, the United Kingdom, or elsewhere, your information will be transferred to the United States, where it is subject to U.S. law and may be accessible to U.S. courts and authorities.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries: for 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your address on a suppression list so we do not email you again.
- Server logs: for the short period our hosting provider retains them.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections and restricted access. No website or email system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee security.
9. Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email. You can ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct it, or delete it by emailing hello@fidamont.com. We reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights:
- Canada: to access and correct your information, to withdraw consent, and to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
- United States: under some state laws, to access, correct, and delete your information, to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising (we do neither), and to appeal our response to a request.
- United Kingdom and European Economic Area: to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, and port your information, and to complain to your data protection authority.
We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
10. Children
This website is for businesses. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Other websites
Our site and emails may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will say so on this page.
